Our farm!

Our goal is to create a farm that works with and is a part of the native East Texas ecosystem.
Here are some of the ways we are working to accomplish that goal. We harness the power of the Texas sun with a 40 panel solar array which accounts for 75 percent of our energy usage and we are working to get that number to 100 percent. We maintain numerous bat and owl houses on our farm to combat insects and rodents. This allows us to maintain our farm without toxic chemicals, and also helps create more habitat for our native wildlife.

Our chickens, ducks and turkeys have a house nearly as nice as ours with a big fenced in yard which they largely ignore. They can be seen nearly everywhere controlling the insect population, aerating the soil and fertilizing EVERYTHING!

We are currently working on our water catchment system for watering our orchard and gardens which are fertilized with our goat manure.
